As the largest IT event for the developer community, CODECON retains its friendly atmosphere and enthusiasm for new knowledge even after all these years. As a result, it is attended by an increasingly diverse range of IT professionals. However, the recent event in Bratislava was different – the nationwide conference celebrated its tenth birthday.
As a founding partner, this IT event could not make us prouder. An unmistakable sign that it is becoming more and more successful is that this year’s event was a complete premiere for more than half of the participants. They came here from all Slovakia regions and even the Czech Republic! No wonder, after all, 28 single talks and five panel discussions on four stages are not something you see every day in the local IT sphere.
This rhetorical question may seem like the beginning of a joke, but the organizing team may have to ask it in all seriousness for years to come. The latest event set a record, with a total of 1518 registrations for the event, and it can be assumed that that number will rise even higher in the future. For now, however, the people who organise our favourite IT event have cleverly managed to ensure that the number of stalls, stages, and people is at sufficient balance.
TITANS turned up in large numbers too, to provide support and expert advice for all the IT talent that came to visit us. The portfolio of top-quality projects motivated many of them to sign up straight into our database and try out a freelancing career alongside an experienced and fair partner. It was evident that the TITANS stall was not just a stopping point for them to get the stamp they needed to join the competition, but also a goal. We are very grateful for that!
Just as the CODECON organizing team believes that IT education should be accessible to everyone, and therefore always leaves the conference ticket free of charge, we also care about developing your skills. In the age of Artificial Intelligence (AI), market trends are changing at lightning speed, so we brought in an insightful expert from the Kempelen Institute of Intelligent Technologies (KInIT) to help us.
Jaroslav Kopčan was the first speaker at the TITANS STAGE, and he immediately managed to fill the entire hall with a curious audience. With a career in AI development, he shared how open-source large language models (LLMs) can be used effectively. The strong interest in the topic was confirmed by the number of questions he received via Slido, and the additional hour he spent chatting with attendees at our stall. If you regret missing his talk, we’ve got some great news: the recording will be posted on the event’s YouTube channel within three months!
We made you a promise, and we kept it: for the biggest IT event of TITANS, we prepared an exciting activity that had a large part of the conference participants eagerly working up a sweat. However, the multiball interactive wall, on which they played various ball games, was more than just fun. Those with the highest scores took home Lego with the themes of the Infinity Gauntlet, the Batcycle, and the Mandalorian helmet.
They were energized not only by our famous krówki but also by vegan chocolates from the fair Slovak producer Lyra. The raspberry novelty got the most compliments, yum! In addition, we managed to beat the June heat with another new addition to the Titan stall – mint chewing gum with a refreshing effect for successful networking.
Last year he was a TITANS surprise in the form of stand-up, but this time he was on stage almost all day as a host. The talented Ján Gordulič has discovered another career space where he feels at home. With the new decade, CODECON has also gained a new face.
A big thank you to the entire organizing team, which raises the bar higher and higher every year, but also to our beloved IT community, which is constantly at the centre of our attention. Long live CODECON, an oasis for developers!
